Church on the Street accepts both men and women in need into separate discipleship homes. There are three programs: Guest Discipleship, Discipleship, and Renter Discipleship. Guests stay 10 days free of any charge. Disciples commit to a six month stay free of charge where we teach them the Word and train them to serve the Lord. Those in the Renter Discipleship pay just a small weekly or monthly amount. This is to enable them to save up for their own place and move forward with their lives. All programs regardless are discipleship programs, as we are not a shelter, but a discipleship home where people come to stay and are given the Word of God. All guests, disciples, and renters sign agreements to abide by certain rules and terms as a condition of residence. We have Bible studies, cross walks, church services and prayer meetings for the residents.
We believe bringing people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and teaching them to walk in His ways has many benefits. We have seen lives changed, addictions conquered, and even healings! Discipleship helps the disciple deal with their current problems and prepare successfully for life after Church on the Street.
“Church on the Street provides an opportunity for men and women to be built up in a Christian home and living environment. Their lives will be changed as their lifestyle and mindset changes from worldly to Godly. God brings them in, builds them up and prepares them to be sent out. Our goal is not to teach independence, instead we aim to teach the importance of total dependence and reliance on God.”
